...York City suburb. How is ithe area? We are contemplating moving to the Scranton/ Wilkes Barre area from a New York City suburb. How is the area? I heard the prep school there is good. Is this true? How is the job market? Is the city clean? Run down? Is it a "walking city". Any info about the area would be appriciated.

We moved to NEPA a year ago. The Scranton area is wonderful. You have good and bad parts of cities everywhere but basically, NEPA is great. There are good colleges also in the area. Kings College is located in Wilkes-Barre, there is Keystone College in LaPlume, which is about 20 min. from Scranton. There are plenty of NY and NJ people in the area also. It is affordable to live here too. The payscale isn't like NY or NJ though. It is much lower. Hope this helps!
