Question Colleges near Scranton/Wilkes-barre

Hey guys, can you tell me which colleges are 4 year colleges?
My DD's boyfriend is looking into colleges in the Scanton area.
He is going for accounting. He applied so far to Keystone College and is coming up in March to check out the area. He will be staying with us.
Any other colleges that are good an affordable for accounting?

Re: Colleges near Scranton/Wilkes-barre

King's College in Wilkes-Barre, where I'm currently going, probably has the best accounting program in the region and is strictly-accredited by AACSB (American Association of Collegiate Schools of Business). It also comes at a hefty price tag though---tuition alone is nearly $22,000! If King's seems like a good fit for him, I'd recommend he only come here for his Junior and Sophomore years and take his first two years at a local community college that transfers credits (such as Luzerne County Community College or Keystone College) in order to save money. The University of Scranton also has a great program, but that comes at a steep price tag too. This school probably offers the best graduate programs in the region, so if your daughter's boyfriend wants to become a CPA, he might want to consider the University of Scranton for a year to earn his MBA or a master's degree in another similar field (as I'm doing). If he wants to sit for the CPA exam, then he needs 150 credits (Master's Degree), as you can't even take the test without it in PA (and I believe the same is true for NY/NJ as well).

Personally, if it came down between going to King's or Scranton for after his two community college years, I'd pick Scranton, as it's in a better environment than King's, and he won't have to transfer to Scranton for one more year after only two years at King's. Also, the past week has brought us a murder around the corner from the King's campus, a brutal home invasion two blocks away, and an armed mugging nearby that have all prompted King's to issue mass "safety" e-mails warning students to walk in packs. I've walked around this area at night, and I've had to RUN to my car, a few blocks off-campus, on occasion due to feeling threatened by some shadier characters. Scranton is just a much nicer, safer, "hipper" city overall, and Wilkes-Barre is the type of place where you need to look like you're "packing heat" to get by safely.

Hi, Scranton aka Paul!! How much longer do you have before you receive that coveted Masters?

Thanks for the info Paul. I emailed to Will so he can read it himself. He did like Keystone College and the Clarks Summit area very very much. He now has to decide between Keystone and Slippery Rock College near Pittsburg.
I hope he picks Keystone then they will be near us!!!
