Community Reps

I am sure that most of you have noticed the community reps with the green usernames around the forum for the past few days. Rather than suddenly appointing a bunch of new moderators, I created this community rep group as a point between member and moderator. I chose people that I think are trustworthy, get along with most members on the forum, and choose to keep out of most fights.

My hope for the group is that they can help keep things in order by encouragement rather than strict enforcement. I would like to see the community rep group thought of more as extra helpful members than some sort of forum police sent to do my dirty work. They will have no moderating ability except being able to temporarily move an entire post out of sight if it gets far out of hand while I am not around. This should prevent many accusations of power tripping that moderators often face in my opinion.

I know that moderators will still be needed to do some things in the future as we continue to grow, and my plan is to choose those moderators out of the community rep group. My thought with doing it this way is that they will hopefully be people that you have interacted with and maybe have some respect for by the time they are moderators, rather than just some random people picked from the member list.

If you have any questions regarding this, feel free to ask. I might not get around to responding until the weekend though.

Re: Community Reps

Thanks admin for explaining your plans. It sure looks like you have put a lot of thought into, how to proceed as the site grows. I do respect the reps you have picked, and can see how hard they have been working the last couple of days. Thank you greenies:) for all your hard work.

The structure you have planned for the future sounds like it will have a check system...that requires team work...between you and the reps. Good balance.

You've worked really hard Admin. and have been very patient. Thank you.

Izzy

How about gremlins...do you remember that movie. They look so cute and furry. But there were a few that were not so tame...I like greenies too. But then they could never change their colors:)

What about YaYa's...the YaYa sisterhood movie...sorry dufferz...I guess that wouldn't work. My granddaughter calls me YaYa. Sounds like a babysitter name to me:)

Okay back to the drawing board. I'll research some good ones.

Re: Community Reps

Alright, enough is enough! I'm laughing so hard milk is coming out my nose. The hard part about it is, I have not had milk since yesterday morning.

Just remember one thing. there are two rules to this thread.

1. There shall be no mention of the color "blue" in naming this positon. The only exception is "blue flaming monkey butts"

2. If you think that I am going to be a, whatever this position is, forever, you are dreaming. One day many of you will be called whatever this positions name is.....

I was thinking Green Peace because they are green and they keep the peace.

But just plain Greenies works too.

Re: Community Reps

A bidet is a French thing, next to the toilet I believe, that shoots a stream of water to wash your butt after you poop. Here's a pic. The bidet is the one on the left.
