Considering moving to South Carolina?

I'm considering moving to South Carolina by this time next year so that I have enough time to save up money. I know this requires a lot of planning so what should I consider? I'm 23 and currently live with my parents. I pay all my own bills except rent because I go to school full-time. So if I move I will be transferring to a college there. Other than saving up a good amount of money I'm not sure what else I should do in preparation. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Right now I live in New Jersey and this will be the first time I will be living alone. I have some friends who already live in the Hilton Head area.

Youa re sooo smart to plan now. If your parents will agree, ask to be able to pay two of the house bills-cable, phone maybe what ever you know that you can afford. Then be sure to keep receipts for every payment. This is a good way to build credit so that when you get moved you can actually consider buying something. This is how I got my 19 year old son into his first home. We used those bills as his credit records and it worked. Good Luck!
