Re: Hello from Coward

Hi a1m1700. Are you moving to SC or visiting in a few weeks?
I am in Coward lol. Real small country town. We are about an hr and a half in from Myrtile Beach. Our closest "city" is Lake City (I have to chuckle comming from MA as Lake city would be considered a not too large town in MA)

I'm actually moving to North Carolina, Charlotte to be exact, or should I say to be exact Huntersville a suburb of Charlotte.

Oh an hour and a half from Mrytle Beach nice! I went on vacation to Wilmington last August, I had a day trip to Mrytle planned but I ended up breaking my ankle and couldn't go anywhere. I'll try to get over there this Summer.

What brought you to Coward?

Goodness you would have to want to read a book for me to answer that.

1 – We own a very large home in MA and we simply do not need that kind of space. We purchased our home and a year later I miscarried, and 3 months after that I found out I would be having no more children. Within a few more years it became difficult for me to care for the house properly and I wanted out.
(I was one of those women who was diagnosed with RA at a young age and I was no longer able to go up and down stairs, etc)

2 – Once we decided to sell we realized that we did not want to buy again in MA. I am a realist and was considering my future income potential. I was not interested in remaining where housing prices were through the roof. I was also interested in moving to a warmer climate. I think hubby just came along for the ride on that one.

3 – We have friends who moved to Lynchburg. When we came to visit I fell in love with the peace and quiet. Coming from MA it is a true culture shock, but it just felt so good. Seeing wildlife when you drive down the road is not something we got to see a lot of in MA. Western MA and the mountain areas perhaps, but not where we were.

So once I fell in love with the place it was just a matter of time. We are still cleaning up the house in MA for sale but I have been in SC for 6 months now. We were very fortunate and will not have a mortgage when the MA house sells as we purchased a foreclosure using cash from refinancing our MA house.

There are other reasons, but no more are needed LOL

Where are you relocating from and why?

Hi Pam.
I'm relocating from Phoenix AZ The Valley of the Sun. I have been in AZ for 19 years now. I'm originally from NY. It's time for a change. I visited NC a few times and I like the Lake Norman area a lot.
