Moving to Memphis?

My husband has been promoted at work and his new location will be in Memphis,Tn. We currently live in Harrison,Ar,a beautiful and safe NW Ar town surrounded by the Ozark mtns.It is hard for me to think of living elsewhere. My question is where is a pretty and safe place to live around Memphis.We have been told Germantown,Southaven, and Holly Springs. We really want to live a small distance away from the concrete jugle. Anyone familiar with Memphis and surrounding areas? Thank you

Holly Springs is quite a drive for a daily commute. If I were you, I would not live in Memphis but in the suburbs. Germantown and Collierville are a bit pricy (i don't know what your budget is). Bartlett and Arlington are other suburbs that are safe to live and play in. Memphis is very crime-ridden so I would not suggest buying a house in Memphis. Also If you have kids, make sure they are in a Shelby COunty School, not a MEmphis City School
