Lubbock, Metroplex, Austin, San Antone, El Paso, Houston, Galveston, Corpus: Which

Texas city should I move to Cost of living, tax advantages, quality of life, warmer climate, warm hospitality, job market: all of these are reasons I am considering a move to Texas. I've visited before and found it to be a wonderful state!

I'm moving there from central Kentucky, which I absolutely despise!

Here is why I chose Dallas.

1. Lubbock has a great school in Texas Tech but it is very boring (has no trees!) and has a limited job market. Housing is relatively inexpensive.

2. Austin is too expensive. There is work there but not as much as in Houston or Dallas. Austin does have a great night life and music scene.

3. San Antonio, El Paso and Corpus are so so cities and as for work, not good. The climates are all nice there though.

4. Houston has plenty of work and plenty to do, plus it is close to the beaches. It is very humid but the one thing that kept me from there was the traffic. Oh, my, its ungodly!

5. Trust me, you DO NOT want to live in Galveston. It's a terrible place to live and oh so dirty!

6. That leaves Dallas. It has great weather like a lot of Texas cities. It's population reminds me of California (where I grew up) in that it is diverse. The jobs are plentiful. The night life here is cool and there is always plenty to do. The housing is plentiful and inexpensive compared to other regions. Finally, a drive to any of the other cities isn't far Texas wise.
