should we move to odessa texas?

we live in a town were our families are either an hour -2 hours away and they dont even visit us. I have a job now that wants to move me and family to tx, there are lots of other factors, but maybe someone can say someting that will help us decide what to do . I barely found out yesterday about this

Do you know anything about Odessa? Do you like living out in the middle of nothing? Do you enjoy High School Football? Do you like the smell of Oil country, eg: Refineries, Wells and so forth?

I don't think I could live there, but your more connected to the rest of Texas, than where I live now, in El Paso. So thats a bonus, you could make weekend trips to Dallas or San Antonio... if you want too from Odessa pretty easy.

If this move would be a bonus to your family, with better pay, and a chance for advancement, and you like smaller cities, then I would go for it. You may enjoy it.
