I have been telling people about the dangers of Juarez for some time now, and how there is a major drug war going on... now even the national news is telling people the dangers of our region. More than 22 cops and soldiers have been killed in recent weeks, they found 5 dead decapitated bodies near Escarte Park in El Paso, but on the Juarez side of the river, hinchmen of one of the drug loards.. a dead DEA agent was found, and the bodies are still stacking. There was a recent gun fight just across one of the bridges from Downtown El Paso in Juarez, where 3 people were killed and many others wounded. Stay out of Juarez, there is no reason to go there worth your life.. kidnappings of Americans is on the rise in Juarez as well. US Soldiers are fobbiden to travel into Mexico.. if they cant go and then you should not either. But dont take my word for it.. here read this.. MIG: Mexico Travel Alert

Interesting that I have learned more about the southern border from the border patrol families I have come into contact with than I have ever read in the paper or saw on the news. I have heard many things about Juarez, things that make you go to the store and stock up. Very bad, very bad that the war in Iraq is causing us to ignore the elephant in the room.

We HAVE been very appreciative and patient with the immigration from our southern border, for over 200 years, but now there is a serious INVASION of our land by people WHO DO NOT RESPECT US OR OUR NATION! I agree that Immigrants are people first, but these people are criminals second and as such need to be treated as such. Let them come to our country as other LEGAL immigrants have and we will make them citizens as we have for hundreds of years. I have a question for you, Why have the illegal immigrant factions (including our own liberal politicians) just recently start this crusade for legal status for immigrants who cross the border illegally? The ones who have crossed illegally are incapable of getting a green card because of past misdeeds, so why in hell would we want those to be citizens? If they are able to get green cards then why would we be even having this conversation? Try to understand the propaganda you have fed into little miss naive. It is simple logic, if they were valuable assets to a community as we would like for them to become citizens, then why did they leave their own homes in mexico instead of staying and improving their own world for their CHILDREN? Why did their own country not only allow them to leave without an argument, but even provided them with a "How-To-Get-Across-The-Border" pamphlet? Why didn't they go to a registered border crossing and apply for legal immigration status instead of SNEAKING in? Why do our crime statistics stink to HIGH HEAVEN of mexicans? No, I tell you what. I for one ain't even going to give you the benefit of the doubt until you have done your homework and then come back with a REAL debate about how I should allow criminals into the country where MY CHILDREN LIVE! You want to support human rights? Try supporting my human rights to a sovereign nation free from fear and safe for my children. Do that by not supporting criminals with sob-stories. I have in-door plumbing, I have running water, If my floor has dirt on it I ask my wife (nicely) to Vacuum it up. I have these things because MY GRAND PARENTS AND THEIR GRANDPARENTS FOUGHT AND GAVE THEIR LIVES TO ENSURE I HAD A SAFE COUNTRY TO LIVE IN. If the mexes want that for themselves, let them get that for themselves, IN THEIR COUNTRY. In that manner they may have more love for their own country and leave mine alone!!! |

| Re: El Paso TX & Juarez Mexico Mancia said it ... loosely quoting: Hillary, The old guy, The black guy ... they're all gonna keep saying "Our country is broke, let's fix it" ... There is no reason to worry so long as the Mexicans are still coming. When they stop coming ... it is time to worry. So, perhaps we can gauge our optimism by their continued arrival ...

And while we're at it, let's not have me dredging up things our government did to the entire region over the past 100 years or so that directed, controlled and influenced the end-product we see today - not to say that things would be so much different. And Pan - look around. You're in Texas! You have to drive nearly a full day to see your tax-dollars at work! Yet another result of American reverse-ingenuity. If I remember your age correctly, you were a teenager when everybody here was still hoping to get rich and move to Mexico someday - many Americans did. Costa Rica is still more "retired US military" than Costa Ricans (perhaps that's a stretch). I still know many people living south of the border ... down Mexico way. And for Pete's Sake, Pan ... Catfish is in ARKANSAS!! Remember Arkansas?? (absolutely no offense to Arkansas. Great soil)

And I am sure El Paso and all of Texas and other border states are no deferent. And I don't hate Hispanic Heck Iam married to one. Born American of coarse. |

cat, we looked at property in Arkansas also before deciding on Montana, my hubby just could not take the humidity. The influx form So Cal into Oregon showcased all the problems you are speaking of.

Born American of coarse.[/quote] Your last line caught me a titch a-kilter there Fishman! Have to incorporate that into my data-banks. Actually fits pretty well, I'm finding. A note to remind you that Los Angeles was Spanish and Mexican before any of y'all "other" white folks showed up. What you see first is the damage and destruction done to it by American society ... Then, you're seeing how easily "American" society will decay when urban problems go unsolved ... and how "The American Way" does not always fit easily into a landscape ... and Then, it becomes easier to understand why our entire country is facing collapse from within ... and it becomes easier to look over the Scope to England and the rest of "white Europe" and see the more-than-half-century of decay that has occurred in the same way -- and I find myself less inclined to blame any one particular group of ethnicity ... with the possible exception of "The White Guys". Remember "The White Guys"? Here's the opening lyrics: We're the White Guys Extremely White! We walk with our buttocks extremely tight! We're the White Guys!
