Smuggling rings brought in hundreds of illegals to U.S.

Federal prosecutors and law enforcement in Vermont have broken up two large
human-smuggling organizations that transported hundreds of illegal
immigrants from Canada across the border into New York and Vermont.

Police in the U.S. and Canada have made nine arrests in the United States,
Canada and Korea and are searching for three more suspects, authorities said
today in announcing the previously sealed indictments. The unrelated
organizations made their headquarters in Canada, one operated out of
Montreal by an El Salvadoran family and the other Korean-controlled and
based in Toronto, according to court papers......

This is very easy to do as even the library in derby VT is actually 1/2 in Canada the streets just cross the boarder with no check point. I have gone to Canada myself through derby as to avoid the lines at the border station during the holidays.

The northern tip of Minnesota has a "honor system" border checkpoint which looks like an ice fishing house on the side of the road with a video phone inside of it. You are supposed to stop and call for permission to enter the country, but most people just drive right past it.

Yes, there is the sign for people heading each direction before you reach it.

There is another sign inside of it saying to go use the payphone at a local bar and restaurant if the video phone inside is broken.
