Vermont, boarder crossing

Ok, I enjoy flying around on Google earth (cheaper than a plane ticket) and I am looking at the US Canadian boarder. I see several roads that cross the boarder, but I do not see any boarder crossing check-points????

In washington every crossing has guards. Am I missing something here?

Yes, sometimes they are a few miles from the border. The Burlington customs office is at the airport. The other six are land crossings:
1. Richford VT
2. Beecher Falls VT
3. Burlington VT
4. Derby Line VT
5. Norton VT
6. St. Albans VT
7. Alburg / Highgate Springs VT

and their addresses are here.

Wow, it is weird that they are not right at the boarder. You know, don't cross my line buddy! Then again we only have about three or four crossing along the entire boarder in Washington (a span of about 200 miles).
