Smile Ahh, rain shadow!

The sun is out, and the sky is blue, in Sequim. Yesterday, too.

The air has that lovely just-about-to-be-spring feeling. The garden feels it, too. The early-blooming plants (Indian plum, andromeda, lungwort, euphorbia, hellebore, laurel) are budding. The apple tree buds are getting a little fuzzy, which shows that they will soon wake up.

WA was hit by a winter storm, yesterday. Snoqualmie Pass was closed, periodically, due to multi-vehicle accidents and avalanche danger. Not Sequim. We were sheltered, in the lee of the Olympic Mountains.

The rain shadow effect is real. Wow! It's so cool, to walk out to the fields, see the blue sky above, with clouds ringing us, in all directions.

I'd better go out, and weed.

Re: Ahh, rain shadow!

The sun is out here too and yesterday it was but it was also raining and it was a trip!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!! My apple trees are not yet budding, but I noticed my blackberry bush is perking up!! Darn Weed!!! But I love those blackberries in the summer!

I live here on the eastside and heard nothing about the pass being closed. But have been really busy and not paying attention to the news on in the background.

Have fun with your weeds!

Re: Ahh, rain shadow!

Today is one of the reasons I love living here. We start to see what we have missed over the winter. Life! (and a couple of large mountain ranges)
