Diamonds from the sky

Yesterday here in my back yard with the sun full blown shinning... it was snowing. The reflection off the snowflakes made it look like the sky was raining diamonds. One of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen.

did anyone else in Wa experience that ever? Or was this a fluke! It was AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL!!!!

I think I have seen that once. Weird, isn't it? WA does have some crazy weather sometimes.

Here, it was 80. Our winter is OVAH!

Sounds like your neck of WY has missed what we've had here in Idaho. Been getting snow every day since.... since... Saturday or Sunday and more to come.

In answer to the original question/post, I do believe what you encountered was when the winds aloft carry the precipitation and they can scatter about miles away, thus having sunshine and snow at once.

If I'm wrong, someone, feel free to correct me. I know there's a term for this, but I'm not in a research mood

Closest I have seen was a sunny day with wind blowing snow off the branches.

Just one of those golden moments that we are old enough to savor while the moment is there...

you are so right... 20 years ago I would have thought... Damn now my hair will get messed up when I go out!

It was something to savor!!! And glad I could be in the frame of mind to do so.
