| Indian Summer
Or would that be Native American Summer... This is what I hated when I was in school, hot September days sitting in school looking out the windows, remembering all those rainy July days spent indoors. sigh.

I love Fall...all those pretty colors and crisp cool air...after 100+ days of summer. I love the smell of those first rains. The colorful leaves of the sweet gum trees. I usually start baking and making soups this time of year. Everything smells better in the crisp clean air. I start thinking about holidays. We have lots of wild turkey in our area...and I see lots of deer around the lake nearby. I need to buy some firewood:) Our Indian summer usually comes in late Sept. or early Oct. But we usually have cold wet weather by Holloween. Almost time for pumpkin bread with raisins, banana bread, chicken and dumplings.:) Izzy

that's funny. I was just on the phone talking to my daughter about I love this time of the year because the Squashes are coming around ready to pick and start making stuff to freeze. Is it that, or is it the fact the oven keeps the house warm and you don't have to start the furnace yet? haha

Ready to step outside and smell fireplace smoke in the cold crisp air. Okay, I'm getting ready for winter. You got your fire wood and Wiskey ready 53? Is your garden still producing? Izzy

Firewood, Check! Whiskey, Sorry, swore off. Odie said I wasn't very diverse so I switched to Kentucky Sour Mash. You know, kinda introducing myself to other cultures. Will that work? Check! So far, garden is still doing fine.
