What would the best & least expensive city to raise a family near Seattle, WA?

Please help - need to move soon We currently live in Sequim, WA. Husband commutes to downtown Seattle daily. 3 hr total commute time - he is okay with a hour commute - he will be using public transportation.
We are looking for a nice neighborhood to raise our 2 girls, 8 & 13. My oldest daughter is half African American so no racist towns please. Good schools and not crazy over priced. We will be renting for the next 2 years, then plan on purchasing a home. We like to be able to enjoy nature, and shopping, entertainment, movies, etc. Thanks for the advice -we have not clue about any of the towns around Seattle.

I have heard of racist people, but not racist towns.

Around certain parts of Seattle it's not the black park of her that would get harrassed! Good Lord, if you don't get racist issues in Sequim, then you sure as heck won't get them anywhere around seattle! The problem you will have is that unless you want to live in a cardboard box, the homes around Seattle will be very expensive.
