| The seattle burbs
"seattle" as thought of by most people is the main population center of the state. The reality is that Seattle proper, while heavily populated is part of what is called the greater puget sound area. The puget sound is a large body of water that is an inland waterway. Cities considered in the puget sound region are Everett to the north to Olympia to the south. There are dozens of cities throughout this region. I-5 is the main freeway throughout the region. The negatives of this area is the commute, higher house prices and more crime than other areas of the state. The positives are fantastic places to see and go, lots of nature close by, snow and water skiing, hiking, biking and outdoor sports are readily available. The weather is good in the summer, and on a warm summer night you can't beat just being here. From the center of Seattle to farm country is only a 20 mile trek, so there is something for everyone.

Let me add that being a female and being in the city at night... I felt really safe. Lots of people out and most very friendly. And so much to do in the city and around it!!!

The city of Seattle is a great place to live, although last time I was there the traffic and crowds seemed so excessive, having just come from a small town. I had little money but could be entertained just walking around the various parts of town, or travelling on the extensive bus system with an unlimited monthly pass.

Yeah with very little money the street entertainment is great if not funny! And riding around in that free zone on the bus is a great way to get around. I personally love the "buzz" of Seattle! All the people!!!
