Looking in Washington

okay Big changes for me this year. Will be changing jobs and residence(alone). I want to stay here on the Eastside... But it is a bit pricy and the pay doesn't seem to be what I was used to in So CA... Sooo Looking for office type of work and a room mate looking for someone to help with expenses. And I have Azi so I need to find someone who is animal friendly... so if any of you Washingtonians know of anything that can help... I would be very grateful.

I will keep some of my clients and still do some web work but need to get out there and meet people. I can't do it being the work-a-holic at home.

What parts do you need help with most? Roomy, room, or location? Is Azi an outdoor lion or an indoor pussy?

How far outside the eastside would you consider going?

I would like to live close to where I work. I don't really want to commute. My son will be living in Seattle...around the U district. I don't want to be too far from him... or too close (I need to let him live his life. We are very close and I think a bit of distance will do us both good.)

And Azi is strictly inside...NEVER out. That is non negotiable under any circumstances.

Looking at Azi's picture, I could have guessed that.

I would start with lake forest park as the closest far distance from the UW. The bothell tech cooridor may have job opportunities. If so, you can come be my neighbor!

Actually a look for work up in this area would be a good option. If you work around bothell Lynnwood, then your housing options and cost are a lot less than the other eastside areas. I of course don't know what you pay now, so compariing would be in your hands.

I will keep an eye on my companies want ads for rental properties. Are you wanting a house, condo, apt?

Yeah I wouldn't unleash Azi on any neighborhood!!! I would get locked up or at the very least pummeled with stones!!! Actually he is my baby and I would die if anything happened to him.

and if you break out into song.."won't you be my neighbor" I will run all the way back to CA!

I thought about Bothell but guess I just know this area better so am more comfortable with it but I can get to know a new area. And I would not be paying anywhere near what I am now because of course I will be alone. If I find a room mate that is cat friendly that has a house, condo or apt I would be willing to look into it. Ideally a place alone would be great but I want to live in a safe area and from what I found the places I can afford alone are undesirable to me.

I have to admit it will be difficult to top a tri level on a third of an acre up here!

Re: Looking in Washington

How interesting, I've decided to move to Seattle on the 1st! I'm going to see if I can get a place around Capitol Hill or maybe Magnolia, as it has my Discovery Park - I have a history with that park.

I don't really know what I'm going to do until I get a place, one doesn't just waltz into Seattle and find a cheap room right away, but I am very sick of living in this creepy small town. Too bad they don't have SROs there anymore.

Yeah Cheap and Seattle don't go hand in hand, that's for sure. Personally I think I will stay out of the city.

Going out to the Tri-city area this week for the day to look at some possibilities there. Not my first choice but sometimes we have to do what we have to.

for quality of life, i'd look at wenatchee way before i'd ever consider the TC.

The reason I was considering the TC was because I know people there. And I have had fun when I have gone down there. However in the past weeks I have decided I will try to stay here in Western WA for now.

never lived there, so i by no means am an expert, but i have been through often. from what i do know, i'd consider moving my family to wenatchee while the TC never would be a consideration.

my point is, if you like what makes western washington western washington, i'm guessing wenatchee would be way more up your alley ... chelan isn't bad, either.

Re: Looking in Washington

I was at the home show and they are really pushing Chelan a lot. Looks really pretty there!!! But they said it was at this point more like a retirement area. And having come from the Palm Springs area of So CA... That atmosphere is not what I want at this point in my life. But maybe a vacation type of home.
