famous dead seattle people

If your in Seattle you can visit two famous people who are no longer with us.

Bruce Lee is buried on Capitol Hill east of downtown next to volunteer park. You can tell where he is buried by finding where there is no grass. Next to him is buried his son Brandon. This is a very popular tourist site.

In Renton you an visit the grave of Jimmy Hendrix. Same lack of grass, different location. If you ever want to go visit, look it up on Google for directions. It's not that conventient to find.

I am not sure where any other famous people are buried, except for chief Sealth (the namesake of Seattle).

Anyone know where Kurt Cobain is buried?

Lack of grass? Does that mean pavement? There are actually several places that lack grass in Volunteer Park, some of them having buildings over them. Or trees.

I used to love sitting in that little overlook area, Interlaken or something, with the great views of lake and mountains - that was just across the street from the northeast corner of Volunteer.

Yeah, if you go into the entrance of the cemetary, go straight back and look for a path between the driveway on the headstone that does not have a single blade of grass, due to the large number of visitors. They may replace the grass every once in a while, but not sure why, if they do.

I like going up into the water tower at volunteer park. All in all it's a nice park.

Want to hear a cool story?

My dad, after attending a Jimmy Hendrix concert was hitchhiking home. A car pulls over, and who do you think was in the back of the car? Jimmy Hendrix himself!! He ended up taking my dad to a party........

I think rumor has it that he was cremated and some of the ashes were scattered in the Wishkah River in Grays Harbor County and some were burried in the backyard of his Seattle home.

Can anybody verify? Where else were the remaining ashes were deposited?
