Eagles IN Washington!

This is fresh from my companies intranet site:

Visit the Upper Skagit Bald Eagle Festival this weekend

PSE is a sponsor of the annual Bald Eagle Festival this Saturday and Sunday in Concrete, Rockport and Marblemount.

The annual gathering of bald eagles is one of the largest in the world, and this year record numbers of eagles are present, feeding on spawning salmon.

PSE staff and informational displays will be in the public school complex in Concrete. Eagle-watching sites staffed with volunteers are located along the Skagit between Concrete and Marblemount.

If you have never been up to the skagit river to see the eagles, DROP EVERYTHING THIS WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!! Grab a camera. You will not believe what you will see. Trees speckled with bald eagles. Wow! the river is spectacular as is the drive there and all. Please, if you get the change, grab your talkstate friends and have a day to remember! (you don't need to go to the interpretive center to see the eagles).

And just have to share....This is where my head is... I saw eagles coming to WA and wondered why would they be coming to WA and why the excitment? I had sports on the brain...

~rocco, the superbowl is not being played in Seattle, nor are the eagles playing in this game. You are off topic with that comment.

You and Pam do not live in Washington, so you cannot make this trip and seeing that you are not in washington, you are both off topic.

As much as I like WA and bald eagles, I don't have to travel that far to see them. We get some that nest along the Snake River here in Idaho and they are awesome!

Yes, Idaho is a wonderful place to view the eagles. I did that a few years back. I saw a bunch of them and they were magnifcient.

Seriously, duff, I may try to get up there on Saturday. I got a few things that may prevent that but I'll see. Thanks for bringing it up.

I think that the eagles will be around for several weeks, so it's not a saturday or only thing. Been up there though, driving along the river, came across an eagle in a tree right next to the road. Got our and stood that, not 30 feet away from this bald eagle. Was so cool.
