| bridges in Wyoming
Now that the tradgety in Min has happened, the Gov has come out and said, "13% of the bridges in Wyoming are deficient." Just what does deficient mean? Likely to fall down? Below expectations but sound? Living in Sheridan, a person really don't think much about bridges. But, we travel across them every day. I'm wondering if he's going to have a spine and tell us what bridges were deemed "Deficient" and why. Our bridges were designed based on that day with, I suppose, some thought toward future traffic. But did they plan for the 4 layers of asphalt, 16 coats of paint, sand and gravel from winter, bird droppings, etc...? Then add the fact that when it was built cars weighed 3,000. Now all the ranchers are driving one ton duelly's hauling 500 gallon water tanks or 1500 lb round hay bales.

If a bridge were to go out in Wyoming - would we even know? Just put 'er in 4wh-drive and keep going. I speculate that our bigger danger in Wyody is the Dams. Hope I made you feel safer 53.
