I couldn't take that kind of cold for long. Here in CA we are currently 39 degrees at 7:30 in the evening. I'm freezing. Got to go start a fire. Climb under the down comforter and watch the TV. Izzy

Got the furnance, but it runs me about $300. a month to run it. Well, I also have a spa that I keep hot in the winter. Nice to go out and climb in it when it is so cold. It is just so relaxing to sit out in the tub in the middle of winter and look at the Moon & stars. Izzy

That's interesting. Is your hot tub electric or gas? the reason I ask is a buddy of mine installed a hot tub that was electric. 2 months later, he switched it to gas. Cut his bill in half. Gas heated it in just a few minutes where as electric took all day. Up here, a hot tub becomes a mini skating rink during the winter. Can't afford to keep it heated all the time. haha It's funny what a person conceaves. I'll be setting here, perfectly fine, and then I'll check the thermometer outside. 6 degrees and snowing. All of a sudden, I feel cold. I gotta start a fire in the fireplace. But, truth be known, it's still 70 degrees in the house. Just a glance at the termometer makes me feel cold.

Ours is electric. We are mostly electric. Our furnance is gas...but all else is electric. The ground is hard as rock and the foundation is cement. We have very little attic space...Cathderl ceilings. Don't want to do all the work of putting in a gas line under those conditions. If we had subflooring...it would be a consideration. Izzy

20 years ago, everybody and everything pointed at going all electric. But the power company's figured this out and starting raising electric rates. Now it's reversed and gas is cheaper to run then electric. I've even considered putting in gas lamps for lighting. Got to do a little more study on it, but it's a thought. I have a gas dryer, gas stove, and I heat with gas. Even up here in the cold, my gas bill is less then my electric.

I just run to the store on my 4 wheeler and all I wore was a hoody. Well, and normal clothes. You know, bibs, t-shirt and stuff. It's 45 degrees here. No wind, bright and sunny. Almost feels like summer.

Believe it or not, I use my 4 wheeler for my main mode of transportation. Haven't fired up my truck in 3 months. See, in Wyoming, you can license your 4 wheeler for the road. Mine is licensed. It gets 36 miles to the gallon, truck gets 10. Now when it gets colder, might fire up the truck. But it's kind of nice to get some fresh air and run around on the 4 wheeler. I love the cold. People laugh at me for it. The other day, it was 6 degrees. They were pointing and giggling when I rode to Wally world and got grocery's. Had my Hoody and a full tank of gas, will travel. ![]() ![]()

For years, weather came in from Canada/Washington/Oregon area and came over and dumped on us. Has anybody noticed, this year, the weather is coming up from the South? It still comes in Washington Oregon area, but the swings down to the bottom or the rockies and then swings back up and dumps. As such, we've been very lucky. They've been running out of moisture before they get up this far. The states to the south have been getting nasty weather and we've been cold, but no snow.

We got about 2 inches, but wind came up to about 25mph, temp dropped to about 20 so it really felt cold. Not enough to hamper traffic.

Been snowing off and on every couple of days. Just enough to keep 2 or 3 inches of snow on the ground and the streets slick. Yesterday morning it was -2 at 6am. This morning it was 13. No new snow in the last 24 hours and no wind. Today we're supposed to get up to about 28 degrees.

New Years brought in about 2 inches of fresh snow. Temps have been running in the 20's during the day and low teens to single digets at night. Hasn't been any wind here in town. But out in the country it's been a little windy. Spent 3 hours plowing my daughters driveway yesterday. Snow had drifted up to about 3 ft drifts. She lives 12 miles out and has a driveway that is about 1/2 mile long.

If my typing is a little wierd, it's my fault. I only have 9 digits to work with. Left hand is bandaged big. hahahaha. Gotta pound on the key's to get them to work. Christmas eve, I took off a finger. Yeah howdy. hahahaha Took it off at the first knuckle. So typing is a chore. Bare with me, it'll only get better. With this stump of a bandage, I hit several keys at once. But we'll get there.

I have muscle spasms. I was cutting up some deer and my finger shot straight out and it took it off. I wouldn't have went to the doctor but I couldn't get it to stop bleeding. hahaha So I threw it in a baggy and jumped on my 4 wheeler and headed for the VA. Really nice nurse said, "It's not funny." But I was chuckling. They sewed it back on. It has color now and I have some feeling in it. It's getting better. hahaha

It was kind of painless. Maybe the drink of Jack helped. haha Drank a lot more after it happened. Today we are having a heat wave. It's up to 24 degrees. Clear sky's, no wind. Getting ready to head to Wally World on my 4 wheeler.

Christmas was excellent. Just kept doinking my finger on everything I walked by. hahaha Things are looking up. Got feeling, got coler. It's pink and I'm using it to type. Can doink a key almost as good as I used to. haha Slow down? Why on earth would I want to do that? I'll slow down when they plant me. Got plenty of time then. haha

Darn, I've been falling behind. More normal lately. Temps in the 20's during the day and right around zero at night. Haven't had any wind at all. Weatherman said the other day we had a Wind advisory. Yeah, right. Got up to almost 10 mph.

Getting some relief from the cold. Except for one day, the next 10 days forecasts are calling for 40+ during the days. Lower 20's at night.

Weather has been true to it's word. We've been having temps in the mid 40's during the day and teens at night. There's been no wind. Clear sky's, with a couple days of partly cloudy. Sunday night, into Monday, we're supposed to get dumped on. That would be the 24th and 25th of Feb. So far we are way below on moisture. We've been getting an inch here, and inch there, a couple days of 3 inches. But we haven't gotten the snow we need. Of course, typical Wyoming winter. Seems like it's organized. First, Jan, Feb, we get cold temps and little snow. Then in about mid March, we start getting the heavy snow. We'll see.

Been pretty nice all week. No wind and great temps. Today it was 48 degrees. So what snow we have left is melting and should be gone by this weekend.
