Are you ready for spring?

Izzy
Ready for spring? No. I want lots and lots of snow. No, I'm not a glutton for punishment, but our snow pack is what fills up the reserviors for the farmers and ranchers to irrigate with. Plus, it gives the good moisture for spring crops to start coming up. We've been in a drought for about the last 6-7 years and the big cause is not enough snow.

It's funny. I gave that last report. And then I had to run to the store. Went out to get on my 4 wheeler and it was raining. Store is only 1 mile and it was sleeting by the time I got to the store. When I come out, it was snowing, hard. haha

But tomorrow is supposed to be in the 50's and Saturday is slated to hit the 60 mark. But right now, it's snowing. haha

Re: Weather data for Wyoming

I can still see snow on the mountains around us. But here at home it is in the high 60's low 70's and beautiful.

I'm packing up for Disneyland and I think I'll need a trailer:) So much stuff for 9 people:)

Catch you later,

Izzy

Re: Weather data for Wyoming

it's the weekend. This after noon we had temps just above 60 with no wind. Then about 4 it changed. It's now almost 6:30 and we've had wind gusts hitting almost 50 mph. Guess that was the front coming in because in 2 hours it's dropped to 35 degrees. Wind is still howling, and it's raining. Rain should be turning white before too long.

Ah hum. Please consult your evening news. That weather come from California to Wyoming. So we're blaming California for allowing illegal immagration of weather. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

welcome back 50+3; read about your latest "service-bay" episode. Old Wyoming-ans never die ... they just smell that way. Too tuff for trepidation.
We had snow this morning in Oregon ... at about 47 degrees ... Nothing stuck around here but higher in the Cascades, it did. I monitor the temps in Wyoming ... we've been in the 60's on occasion. I know that you haven't yet.
I like to post those sorts of thing on your thread here at Wyoming simply so I can talk about "my chuckle" - I dropped by the grocery store this morning (Roth's) - when the cashier complained about the wet-cold and grabbed herself as if to be her own blanket, I chuckled ... and told her I'd come from Wyoming. That used to daunt people. She appeared undaunted saying "well, I wish Spring would hurry up". I chuckled softly all across the parking lot. It was "window-down-warm" by early afternoon.

Re: Weather data for Wyoming

We got close to good weather while I was in the hospital.

The night they took me there, it was snowing and blowing. Then for the next 3 days when they had tubes running in me, it was in the mid 50's outside and the Robin's showed up. Of course, it was snowing the day I got out of the hospital. Weather guesser says "snow accumulations" this weekend. He's getting gun shy. He won't say how much, just "Some". He's been burnt too many times this year.

Re: Weather data for Wyoming

I hear you on the "timing" thing. We've had a real heavy 3-month period with throwing ourselves into our new job and responsibilities (great town, by the way). A month ago, we finally got a day off - heavy rain. Two weeks ago, I planned to take a weekend and get out of town ... Mrs. got sick; This weekend - finally - almost caught-up and taking the first relaxed breath since Christmas ... planned to get away ... snowing. Oh, not sticking - but you ought to see this place when weather gets nasty - they drive like rabbits ... frantic and frenetic circles everywhere! Had a fellow move down here from just up above you a bit - up by Miles City - he had to go back yesterday to grab his RV ... snowing most all the way. Folks from up your way are always happy to get somewhere green this time of year - while you're still back and forth between Frozen-tundra and a threatening-Spring.

Re: Weather data for Wyoming

haha What's this tell you?

today, it's 39 degrees. Wind is out of the NorthWest at 30+ and gusts up to 40. Snowing so you can't see 3 or 4 houses down the street.

I've got the garden tubs out and stired up the dirt. Soaked in some nitrates and then it snowed. Go figure. hahahaha It's blowing about 40 mph +. Snowing so you can't see across the street. But I have hope. hahaha

Okay now I'm cold...send me some pics when things start growing. I'll send you some of mine. The turkeys are all fluffed up and looking for company. They walk all over the yard. Funny hunters in other states pay to go hunt them. Here we just look out the back window and chase them out of the garden:)

Well kids, we're due to have our first day in the 70's today and tomorrow - then back to rainy, upper 40's and such. We get some fantastic days but still frost-prone ... oh, no hard frosts for a while now ... but we're still very much reminiscent of the Rockies.
I still keep tabs on the Evanston WY weather, 53 - and have been watching with absolute GLEE!!! See, we're about to start removing the t-shirts under our outer layer ... while you're probably still wondering if you'll get to take of the Sorrels this year! I haven't had to have my ears covered for a couple of weeks now when I go out early in the morning or late at night - although I've still been keeping the neck covered. I would rather be down in California - except for one inescapable fact ... ... - it's freaking California!

It got up to 52 today. Weather guesser really missed yesterday. Said a bad snow storm was coming in. We got nothing. Just east of us they got over 12 inches with high winds.

Re: Weather data for Wyoming

After a couple of days of absolutely beautiful weather, it's turning on us.

Weather man said a front is coming in. Highs today was supposed to be in the 40's with snow. However the front is just now coming in. Temp is still 52 degrees but the winds are hitting 40+. So expect it will turn nasty later as the front actually gets here.

Re: Weather data for Wyoming

It's back to being nice again. High whispy clouds, no wind, supposed to hit the mid 50's today.

But the weather guesser says there's a big trough hanging in the PNW and we'll get it about Monday. Supposed to rain, drop in temp, snow, drop in temp and blow. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We'll see.

This morning it's a blistering 6 degrees outside. 3 mph winds. Not a cloud in the sky. Weather guesser says rain and snow all week.

Blasted with a snow storm the last couple of days. We had 70+ winds, and thankfully only about 6 inches of snow. But today it's already 40 degrees and all the snow is about gone. Winds are hitting 20+.

Re: Weather data for Wyoming

You know, we always used to get a last blast in April. But if we got something in May, for some reason it wanted to mess with us in June, like ya say.

But we didn't get what South Dakota got yesterday and the day before. There was areas in the hills that got 3 ft of snow from this storm. Course, look at Texas and Arkansas today. Same storm, still on the move.

Yep - and looks like Arkansas is still on the move too - it's part of Tennessee now, I hear.
Everything's pretty calm over here - altho I heard they were having snow at the coast a couple weeks ago - even out over the water.
Don't know if I've ever said this - but thanks for your reports - you've been keeping this thread going for a long time - and it kinda keeps me feeling like I'm still there.
